Dioni: We're happy with the win, we’re gaining pace and feeling

The Malaguista striker held a press conference following the team's victory against UD Almería in the second pre-season fixture. “The pre-season is there to gain physical tone, recover from discomfort and have that spark needed for the first league game. Little by little we’ll improve,” he said to the media.

Dioni, who assisted Cristian in the first half to score the winning goal, started out by clarifying that “the result is the least of it. The pre-season is there to gain pace and feeling. This was our second game of the preseason and, although the result is not important, we’re happy with the victory. Two matches, zero goals conceded. Little by little we’ll get better,” the striker explained.

The new Blue and White number '17' stated he’s not the “typical ‘number nine’ reference. I like to receive, associate with my teammates and I always try to help the team out. I attempt to reach more intermediate areas and associate myself, I always want to help the team,” he commented.

Despite the victory, Dioni believes “the pre-season is there to gain physical tone, recover from discomfort and have that spark needed for the first league game. Little by little we’ll improve,” he affirmed.

Away from the objectives, he stated he wants “to have a good season, for people to enjoy it and for us to have a good year.” Furthermore, he showed his desire to enjoy the Malaguistas and La Rosaleda: “I can’t wait to make my debut at La Rosaleda, for me it’s an honour and great satisfaction. I'm really looking forward to Saturday,” Dioni concluded.
