Einar: “We are leaving with a positive feeling and are on the right track”

The Málaga CF centre-back spoke to the media after the first pre-season test. “It helps us get into rhythm and gain minutes; the day-to-day will help us be well prepared for the competition,” he said.

Review of first friendly

“It's the first pre-season test and it helps us get into rhythm and gain minutes, for everyone to feel involved. They're a strong opponent and we know they're going to be one of the best in the category. These games are about getting into rhythm and getting back into the swing of things with teammates that we haven't seen for three weeks, and being together.”

Good sensations

“We don't give too much importance to the result. Winning always helps, but the important thing is the feeling and it was pretty good. They did us a bit of damage in the first half on the left wing and we had a few chances that we didn't manage to make the most of. In the second half, the team had the weight of the match and performed well. We leave with positive feelings and are looking forward to the next match."

Physical load at this stage in the preseason

“It’s normal that your legs are struggling a bit, but we have done physical tests during these first weeks of preseason and most of us have returned on pretty good form. Compared to last year, we haven’t lost much, it’s a matter of gaining pace and movement and we’re on the right track.”

Pastor and Baturina

“They are both great players and people, above all, which is what makes this team great. We have a great group, they have both come to help what is already there. With Alex, because of his position, I have shared moments in training and with Roko, because of his Croatian origin, I also have a good relationship and I’m trying to help him as he adapts. They are both going to help us a lot, they are great players with experience in the category and already proven. Whoever comes will be welcome and if it’s to contribute, as they are doing, so much the better.”

Preparing for the start of the league

“They count for getting into the rhythm of the competition, but we are also doing a lot of work in training, with different physical tests and competition exercises. We base a lot of training on football, being in competition situations which will help us. The matches are important, but so is the day-to-day and the way we are working. That will help us to be well prepared for the competition when it starts.”

Fans are key

“The fans are incredible, we know what we have behind us. Last year when I came and saw this, everything that people follow, it's wonderful. We were delighted to make them happy last year. That's already happened and this season we have to go for another challenge. If they are by our side, as they will be and were last year, everything will be much easier.”
