Sangalli - The team did a great job and worked hard

The Malaguista midfielder appeared before the media after the friendly against San Fernando CD Isleño. “We have to focus on what we did well, continue working on the concepts that the coach wants and correct the aspects of play where we weren’t so good,” he stated.

Luca Sangalli believes that “the game had good and bad moments,” although he stressed that “the important thing is that the team did a great job and worked hard. We have to focus on what we did well, continue working on the concepts that the coach wants and correct the aspects of play where we weren’t so good. We need to adjust so that the beginning of the season gets off to the best possible start,” the player affirmed.

After the first four pre-season matches, the team remains undefeated. “During the pre-season the results are somewhat secondary, but you always seek victory and try to perform well. We’ve claimed two draws and two victories up to now. In the final pre-season games, we’ll try to get the best out of ourselves to reach the first objective of the season in good order, which is the game in Castellón,” Luca commented.

Today Luca played for just over an hour and it was the first time he has worn the Málaga CF captain's armband: “It’s unusual for the new players to have the captaincy directly, but the circumstances have arisen that the captains and the most experienced players were out in the first half, and I was able to take it. It’s an honour to wear this armband, we’ll see what happens in future matches.”

“At the beginning we were a little imprecise, made some bad decisions and lacked the necessary patience and depth. We didn’t generate any danger behind the opponent to do more damage. In the second half we found the match we wanted within the first few minutes. Now we need to correct the mistakes with the coach, focus on what we’ve done well and prepare for the start of the league,” he continued.

The team continues to accumulate minutes and Sangalli thinks that “the physical work is going well, and we are accumulating minutes. In this last stage we’re going to have more games and minutes, which will help ensure we’re physically prepared. The physical part is very important as the matches are decided in the final minutes, which is where you have to be fresher than your opponent,” he added.

Finally, the midfielder stated that he was “delighted to be able to bring my experience to the group, putting it at the service of the team. Now it’s about continuing like this during the pre-season and reaching the first game in the best possible conditions,” he concluded.
