Einar: “We’ve maintained our DNA”

The Málaga central defender spoke in the 'Juan Cortés' press room after the team's victory at La Rosaleda. “Today is a happy day to add points with our supporters. We need 41 more points to reach 50,” he commented.

Before the press conference started, the Basque player took a moment to remember Fernando Puche, who passed away today: “Today is a happy day for us because of the victory, but it’s a tough day for Malaguismo. We want to remember Fernando Puche and send our best wishes to his family.” He also wanted to acknowledge his teammate Haitam: “He’s going through a tough time, and we all need to support and encourage him.”

United group

“There are no starters or substitutes. We all compete for a place. I felt very comfortable today. We had a very strong first half both offensively and defensively. We dominated and went into half-time with a 1-0 lead. In the second half, they needed to offer more, and we showed that we know how to play a different kind of game.”

Feet on the ground

“Today we secured the three points, but what happens now doesn’t relate to what will happen throughout the season. We know what our goal is; we have nine points and need 41 more to reach 50. After that, we’ll see.”

Team’s identity

“The self-demand is high, the core of the team is practically the same, and we only have good things to say about the new signings. We’ve maintained our DNA. The fans know that this team will give everything it has on the pitch, and today is a happy day to earn three points at La Rosaleda with our supporters.”

Healthy competition in defence

“Among all the central defenders, we have great chemistry and adapt very well to each other. This competition among the four or five of us will make us all better.”
