We’re in the final!

Málaga CF made it to the final after beating Celta Fotuna. Roberto scored a brace (59' and 88') to seal the win, coming back from the initial goal by visitor, Alfon (16').

Málaga CF and Celta Fortuna locked horns in the second leg of the semi-finals for promotion to Laliga Hypermotion this Saturday 8th June (19:30). La Rosaleda was almost full with 29,042 Malaguistas cheering on the team.

Pellicer selected the following starting-11 A. Herrero; Carlos Puga, Nelson, Juande, Víctor García; Manu Molina, Genaro; Dani Lorenzo; D. Larrubia, D. Ferreiro and Roberto.

In the initial stages of play La Rosaleda was roaring and the team was feeding off it. The chances came with crosses from Puga and Ferreiro, but without luck in front of the goal.

When it seemed that Málaga were the better side, it was Vigo’s reserve team that opened the scoring. A long pass to Alfon who created an individual play and netted the first goal of the game.

From then on, Celta Fortuna increased their attacks in the Blue and White area, but the expeditious Malaguista defence prevented the visitors from multiplying their advantage. At 0-1 we reached half-time.

In the second half everything changed. Pellicer brought on Kevin and Einar for Ferreiro and Nelson (booked in the first half) and the game tipped in the Malaguistas’ favour.

Local opportunities kept on coming and La Rosaleda was a pressure cooker. Kevin continually confronted rivals. The homegrown player could have gone level with a great shot that grazed the crossbar and then again after a great play by Dani Lorenzo.

In the 58th minute of the game, the local goal came after a great steal from Dani Lorenzo, who threw himself to the ground, and the ball fell to Roberto, who outwitted the visiting goalkeeper to equalise the game with a superb goal (1-1).

From that moment on the match was a Málaga CF monologue, Kevin unsettled the visitors while Einar cut off every opportunity for the rival. The Malaguista attacks followed one another, and the goal was closer.

It was Roberto, in the 88th minute, who made it 2-1 for the hosts after a great cross from Kevin. Three goals from the Puente Genil player in these playoffs. The referee's three whistles unleashed the delight in the stands of La Rosaleda.
