Unbeaten streak continues with a point at the Nuevo Arcángel (0-0)

Málaga CF drew 0-0 with Córdoba CF on matchday 4 of LALIGA HYPERMOTION, in a game where they displayed a solid defence in front of more than a thousand Málaga fans who had travelled for the match.

Málaga CF faced Córdoba CF on Saturday 7th September at 21:00 at the Nuevo Arcángel stadium on matchday 4 of LALIGA HYPERMOTION 24/25. The Córdoba stadium hosted 18,110 spectators, including over a thousand Málaga fans. The atmosphere was one of exemplary camaraderie between the supporters.

Pellicer’s starting-11 comprised of: Alfonso Herrero, Carlos Puga, Nelson Monte, Einar, Dani Sánchez, Luismi, Manu Molina, Antoñito Cordero, Y. Rahmani, Dani Lorenzo and Dioni.

In the first 45 minutes, the home team took to the pitch with the intention of quickly taking the lead, but Málaga CF, solid in defence, kept them effectively away from their goal. The home side had two dangerous shots: a cross-shot from Álex Sala in the 4th minute, which Herrero saved well, and a powerful strike from the edge of the box, also by the local number 6 midway through the first half, which the Málaga goalkeeper cleared with his chest.

The Malaguistas also had several dangerous chances. Carlos Puga and Yanis Rahmani, both very active on the wings, destabilised the opposing defence on several occasions, but the team was unable to find the reward of a goal in the first half. The match reached half-time with a 0-0 score.

No sooner had the second half got underway, in the 46th minute, Córdoba CF had a dangerous one-on-one chance. Alfonso Herrero managed to stop the play with a spectacular save. The attempt was eventually ruled out for being offside. Just two minutes later, the home team pressed again with another shot from the edge of the six-yard box, which Herrero once more denied with a brilliant stretch.

In the 56th minute, Sergio Pellicer made his first move from the bench with a triple substitution. Baturina, Aaron Ochoa, and Sangalli came on, providing fresh legs for Dioni, Dani Lorenzo, and Yanis Rahmani, who was making his debut in his second stint with Málaga.

The Blue and Whites, wearing their third kit today, had a strong attacking spell, highlighted by a shot from Antonio Cordero in the 78th minute from the left side, which was saved by Córdoba's goalkeeper, Carlos Marín.

The last two substitutions were made to give the fullbacks some fresh legs. Gabilondo replaced Carlos Puga in the 82nd minute, and five minutes later, Murillo came on for Dani Sánchez.

From that point until the end, the highlight was a brilliant defensive play by Einar, who deflected a header from Theo in the six-yard box during added time.

The match ended 0-0, with Málaga CF earning their sixth point in four games, remaining unbeaten.

Their next league fixture will be on Saturday the 14th at 18:30 at La Rosaleda against SD Huesca.
