Good sensations in first preseason test

Málaga CF played their first friendly match of the summer against UD Almería at the Marbella Football Center. Álex Centelles' goal in the 24th minute decided the match in favour of the rival (1-0).

The Blue and Whites were in action on this summer afternoon at the Marbella Football Center facilities to continue with their preseason prior to the start of the league competition. The first test of the summer preparation was against UD Almería, headed up by Rubi.

Pellicer’s starting-11 was made up: Alfonso Herrero; Gabilondo, Einar, Nelson, Víctor; Manu Molina, Dani Lorenzo, Sangalli; Larrubia, Dioni and Kevin.

The team started the first half well positioned, without conceding any opportunities and trying to create danger in the Almería area. The clearest chance was for David Larrubia, with a shot that was cleared off the line by an Indálico defender. In the 24th minute, UD Almería managed to take the lead with a shot from the edge of the box by Álex Centelles. Despite the goal, the team didn’t give up and continued to create chances in the rival area until the end of the first half.

In the second half, nine new players joined the Blue and White line-up: Carlos Lopez; Puga, Pastor, Murillo, Dani Sánchez; Juanpe, Izan Merino, Dani Lorenzo; Larrubia, Baturina and Antoñito Cordero. Pastor and Baturina made their Blue and White debut in this friendly.

The match resumed in the same way, with Málaga CF creating chances with crosses from the side that resulted in corners. In the final stretch of the match, Antoñito Cordero, who understood Baturina perfectly, launched a shot to the post and another that hit the near post that was deflected by the Almería goalkeeper.

There were no goals in the second half and the first game of the Malaga preseason ended in a 1-0 win for the Red and Whites.

The next match will be a friendly on Friday 2nd August against Al-Jazira at the Dama de Noche (Marbella).
