Málaga CF and CD Estepona met this Saturday 19th August in the final rehearsal before the official start of the competition. Pellicer’s starting-11 consisted of Carlos López; Bilal, Moussa, Andrés Caro, Murillo; Rafa, Dani Lorenzo, Jesus, Dani Sanchez; Larrubia and Loren.
In the first half, both teams fought for control of the ball in the wide area and barely allowed dangerous attempts by the rival. The best news of the day came in minute 30, when Haitam stepped on to the pitch nine months after the serious injury he suffered to his cruciate ligament. The score remained 0-0 at half-time.
In the second half, Pellicer selected a different line-up: Herrero; Jokin, Nelson Monte, Juande, Einar, Víctor; Juanpe, Sangalli, Kevin, Haitam and Roberto. A new Málaga CF that sought to increase their presence in the rival area. Finally, in minute 65, Juan Hernández made it 0-1 with a great goal. The winger received a millimetre assist from Einar and, with the collaboration of a defender, sent the ball into the net with a beautiful goal (0-1). After the goal, the Blue and Whites didn’t stop trying to increase their lead, which they did in minute 74' with another stunner from Dioni. The striker gained possession on the front line and took a surprising shot that found the net (0-2). After several minutes of back and forth without too many noteworthy options, the match came to an end.
Málaga CF’s pre-season has now come to an end and they now face the start of 1ª Federación 23/24.
