First victory of the preseason in Marbella (0-1)

Málaga CF played their second friendly match of the summer preparation against Al-Jazira SC at Banús Football Center. The Blue and White goal was scored by Larrubia in the 64th minute.

Pellicer's men faced their second preseason test at the Banús Football Center, going up against Al-Jazira SC, managed by former French footballer Grégory Dufrennes.

The Malaguista starting-11: Carlos López; Puga, Einar, Pastor, Victor; Manu Molina, Dani Lorenzo, Sangalli; Larrubia, Baturina, and Cordero.

The match began with opportunities for Al-Jazira, but they were thwarted by the Málaga defence, which neutralised any dangerous actions in the area. From that point on, Málaga took control of the game, creating chances and generating threats in the opponent's area. The clearest opportunity was a one-on-one for Baturina, following a great play by Dani Lorenzo, which the visiting keeper had to divert with an excellent save to prevent the Croatian's first goal. In the final minutes, the team continued to create plays in the opponent's area and almost opened the scoring after a great move by Antoñito Cordero and a good shot by Juanpe. However, the first half ended with no goals on the scoreboard.

In the second half, Pellicer made 10 changes to the line-up: Alfonso Herrero; Gabilondo, Nelson, Murillo, Dani Sanchez; Sangalli, Merino, Aaron Ochoa; Kevin, Dioni, and Larrubia.

The match resumed with neither team managing to take control of the ball. In the 60th minute, Málaga had a chance to take the lead after a great shot by Gabilondo, which the opposing goalkeeper had to send out for a corner. From then on, the team took control of the game, besieging the opponent's goal and creating many chances. The Málaga goal came after a great run by Dani Sanchez, who delivered a perfect cross to Larrubia, allowing him to put his team in front with a superb header.

After the goal, Málaga had their best moments, controlling the midfield and preventing any balls from getting through to Al-Jazira. Chupete, Sangalli, and Ochoa had the clearest chances to score the second goal of the match, but their attempts were blocked by the rival defence.

The match ended with a victory for Pellicer's team, thanks to a great goal from Larrubia.

The next fixture is on Saturday 10th August against Córdoba CF at the Estadio Ciudad de la Línea, which will be the final test before the league opener at A Malata against Racing de Ferrol.
